Alex Bickford Psychotherapy
Hello and Welcome
So much of how we experience the world (our relationships, our stress, our sense of self) is shaped by what came before. Early experiences and the coping patterns we built around them do not just disappear with time. They can resurface later in life as anxiety, as difficulty moving through loss, or as a quiet feeling of being stuck.
I work relationally, which means I believe that establishing trust is at the heart of our work together. Confidentiality and respect are fundamental elements of therapy, and I am committed to offering care that is respectful and responsive to your needs.
By offering a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and behavioural patterns, and bringing them into awareness, I can help you feel more able to cope with challenging circumstances. As an integrative psychotherapist, I draw on a variety of theories and techniques to help inform my approach, tailoring our sessions according to what feels right for you.

“We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know”
