Grief therapy

Grief therapy in London & online

Grief is an area I am particularly interested in. I have supported many people who have been profoundly affected by loss and felt unable to move forward with their lives. Through therapy, I have seen them find their way forward, and I have witnessed first-hand the power of therapy to help people move through grief rather than remain stuck in it.

Grief can exist in many ways. It doesn’t always mean that we are grieving for someone who has died. Grief can be for the life we thought we would have, or the friendship that ended and we still wish we had. Loss is complex, and I understand how all-consuming it can be. The way in which we deal with loss can be hugely impacted by our attachment style and family history. Each person experiences it uniquely and in their own way.

How we would work together

My approach to grief therapy is that we would work together on exploring the loss, rather than avoiding it. The emotional pain of grief is not something to fix, but rather a natural element of mourning, and we must try and work through it. Greater damage is done when we try and avoid it or block it altogether. It can take a while to feel comfortable or strong enough to explore the loss, and we will work at your own pace.
