My approach
Therapy with me
Therapy is about learning to understand why we are who we are, what has shaped us and how we want to move forward. As an integrative psychotherapist, I am trained in a range of psychotherapeutic approaches. This means that I can tailor the way in which I work to focus on your specific needs.
At the heart of my work is the relational. This means that I focus on establishing the relationship with the client and ensuring that you are comfortable and trust me. I also draw on the following approaches:

Psychodynamic & attachment informed approach
I firmly believe that our past experiences, particularly our earliest relationships, become the blueprint for how we understand ourselves. They shape the way in which we interact and engage with the world and other human beings.
Humanistic approach
At the heart of humanistic therapy is the question: “what helps me to fully become myself?” The way I work closely aligns with this approach. Humanistic therapy believes that the answers are often within ourselves, even if we have lost contact with them. When working with clients, the therapist creates conditions in which you will feel safe enough to reconnect with your authentic self.
Existential approach
This approach is grounded in philosophy, rather than a fixed set of techniques. It focuses on the fundamental questions of existence, and the deeper questions of meaning, loss and living in the face of uncertainty. This can be particularly helpful when working through grief, as it allows us to sit with life’s difficulties rather than avoid them.
